Thanks for the reply.
The font you suggest is close, and I did look at it previously, but it's not quite the one. This has a "ghostly", "graveyard" feel to it that makes it stand out for me.

This looks like Trajan.
Maybe the Trajan color version that someone outlined in photoshop or something. It's definitely a version of Trajan.

I'm beginning to think that it was designed for the book. I might write to the publishers to see if they know.
