Nothing on the online search comes close to matching this. It may be a hopeless case but just in case I am posting it here. The publisher is Darton, Longman & Todd of London, dated 1966.

Thanks Alex. Your suggestion is a nice font indeed, but has not the engraved character of the example. I suspect it is a lost cause to find it. Cheers.
