These fonts are the fonts like Calibri, Times New Roman, Futura, Helvetica, Arial, and others such fonts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These fonts are great for absolutely everything: websites, landing pages, marketing materials, documents, books, magazines, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facebook uses Arial or Helvetica for its website. As <a href=\"https:\/\/similarweb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SimilarWeb<\/a> indicates, Facebook.com has around 21.54 billion of monthly unique visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The website is globally ranked as the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1022\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.whatfontis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Facebook.com-SimilarWeb-monthly-traffic-1022x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-74779\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.whatfontis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Facebook.com-SimilarWeb-monthly-traffic-1022x1024.jpg 1022w, https:\/\/www.whatfontis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Facebook.com-SimilarWeb-monthly-traffic-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.whatfontis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Facebook.com-SimilarWeb-monthly-traffic-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.whatfontis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Facebook.com-SimilarWeb-monthly-traffic-768x769.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.whatfontis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Facebook.com-SimilarWeb-monthly-traffic-1534x1536.jpg 1534w, https:\/\/www.whatfontis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Facebook.com-SimilarWeb-monthly-traffic-2045x2048.jpg 2045w, https:\/\/www.whatfontis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Facebook.com-SimilarWeb-monthly-traffic-770x771.jpg 770w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1022px) 100vw, 1022px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If Facebook uses a simple font which is available for all of us, why should we complicate things and pick fonts that are not friendly, which are expensive, and which most of us don\u2019t know?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facebook uses friendly fonts, and others huge platforms are doing the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will tell you right away how friendlier fonts will help both you and me as a visitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How friendlier fonts help both the website owners and the visitors?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a story that it will explain extremely well how friendlier fonts help us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My father who is 65 years old wanted to buy a toy crane for my boy, his grandson. My son\u2019s birthday was in about one week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He spent several days searching the internet as it is easier than visiting several stores with toys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before starting the search, he decided his budget and all the other details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At some point, he found the toy crane that was having all the characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He clicked the BUY button and he paid with his card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The surprise (bad one) happened when after several days of waiting, he decided to call the store and see why the toy wasn\u2019t delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He found out that the toy crane was not in stock and it was available only as a preorder as it was a highly demanded toy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The store used small fonts to write that information and my father which is 65 years old didn\u2019t saw it. Maybe the fonts were not small for a 30 years old person, but for my father the text was too small.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He had to cancel the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The store lost a $200 order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I bet that my stores are losing orders because they use hard to read fonts or too small fonts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>And the story can continue.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Again with my father, when he developed a huge passion for backgammon. He always played this game, but now he is going to regional, very important contests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He ordered lots of books to get better at this game, and he started to read blogs about backgammon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What happened is that some books were again using small fonts and one blog was using a very hard to read font.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He returned a couple of books and quit reading that blog, even if it was among the best in information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>So how can friendlier fonts help us both?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You will not lose a buyer or a visitor, and I will be happy to continue reading your blog and make purchases from your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friendlier fonts are the future and should always be in your mind when choosing fonts for your websites, landing pages, or whatever materials you have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Governments and companies already started to use friendlier fonts, what about you? Analyze the fonts you use and if needed, make some changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are lots of people that cannot ready small or complicated fonts. They are potential buyers and visitors for your businesses. Help them become your customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If possible, let people pick the fonts they like and the sizes they are comfortable with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will invest more in designing your website, but it will pay you back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Companies, website owners, designers,
